    World Book Day

We all dressed up to celebrate World Book Day. We had a wonderful day of storytelling; making up our own stories and telling or writing stories to go with pictures we had made.

    Team work

We had to pass the hoop around the circle without breaking arms!  We had to work as a team.

    Sweets

The children have decided to create a sweetie shop for our Busy Zone. We use materials from out D+T Zone to make pretend sweets, some of the children find stones in the garden and we use crepe paper to cover them like sweet wrappers and decorate them with ribbon and jewels.

Mrs Stock prepares some salt-dough to make some pretend sweets; the children carefully make lollies, bonbons and all sorts of treats! When all the sweets are cooked, we have lots of fun painting them all sorts of bright colours!

    Gingerbread Men

Today we read the story of the Gingerbread Man and sang a song about him. We decided to make a Gingerbread Man to eat too. Mrs Rainbow helped us to read the recipe, count how many spoons of each ingredient we needed and then roll it and cut it.  We all helped to measure, count and mix the ingredients. We had to bake it in the oven before we ate it.  Yum, yum, yum!!

    Exploring Watermelon

We read the story “The Enormous Watermelon” and decided to use all our senses to discover what a watermelon was really like inside and outside.  We felt how heavy it was, and how smooth the skin was and then we cut it.  Inside it looked different!  It was pink with little pips and it felt wet and sticky.  When it was time to eat it, we loved it.  Our enormous watermelon tasted sweet and delicious

    Easter Bonnets

Look how fancy we all are!
